Women’s Ministry
The Women of Wesley United Church gather in various ways to work, worship, and enjoy one another’s company. Regular Programming includes the W.O.W., “Ladies’ Nights”.
The purpose of the W.O.W. is to unite women of the congregation for the total mission of the Church and to provide a medium to express loyalty and devotion to Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship and service.
The W.O.W. Group meets on the second Monday of the month at 1:30 pm in the Jones Parlour at the Church.
These women take an active role in the life at Wesley by providing such activities as fellowship coffee and tea after church, the Halloween Luncheon, Christmas Dinner & Communion as well as catering many functions throughout the year.
Special Events & Fundraising
As in any United Church, the Women of Wesley (W.O.W.) play a pivotal role in raising funds for outreach as well as the operating expenses of the church.
Special Events/Fundraising:
The women of Wesley spearhead the Special Events/Fundraising Committee. We couldn’t be successful without their contribution.
The special events/fundraising committee assists the Church Council in raising additional funds by:
- promoting activities to Wesley and when appropriate to the community at large;
- working closely with the finance committee to determine the need for such activities;
- coordinating activities that the committee, Church Council or members of Wesley may suggest.
